SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Rockies' daily lineup card for spring Cactus League games is written, in perfect hard-edge penmanship, by bench coach Tom Runnels. It starts with BLACKMON at the top and cascades down the batting order. ARENADO and GONZALEZ usually sit on consecutive lines as the sluggers hit back to back. HUNDLEY is somewhere near the middle, in the bottom half.
The LEMAHIEU line takes some work to find. DJ LeMahieu, the Rockies' second baseman, slides around the lineup like a game of Chutes and Ladders. He hit in every slot in the batting order last season, including leadoff, cleanup and ninth.
