Diamondbacks 9, Rockies: Kyle Freeland roughed up in loss

The Diamondbacks defeated the Rockies 9-2 Saturday night. It was never close, and the loss drops the Rockies’ record to 15-19.

Kyle Freeland? Guys?

Kyle Freeland’s rough start continued, as he gave up a career high eight runs in six innings pitched. He struck out just one batter in the game, while walking two batters and giving up three home runs. The outing raised Freeland’s season ERA to 5.90 to go along with a 5.24 FIP. Given that the starting rotation should be the team’s greatest strength, it’s not very inspiring to see these kinds of starts pile up, especially from the guy who was easily the Rockies’ best pitcher in 2019.
