Diamondbacks 8, Rockies 6: Bullpen sinks potential Rockies win

The offense showed up for the Rockies on Monday night, but the pitching didn’t as they fell to the Diamondbacks, 8-6. Jake McGee and Chad Bettis allowed three home runs in four batters in the sixth to give up the lead for good. The loss is the sixth in the last seven games for the Rockies and have gone 9-26 since June 30.

The Rockies were winning 6-3 after five innings thanks to a good effort from Peter Lambert. Jake McGee came in and gave up a leadoff home run to Jake Lamb, a single to Josh Rojas (making his major league debut), and a home run to Nick Ahmed to tie the game at six.
