The Colorado Rockies and Washington Nationals have had Wednesday’s game in Denver go into a weather delay in the top of the third inning.

With the Rockies holding a 4-3 lead in the top of the third inning, heavy rain moved into the downtown Denver area. With Colorado reliever Yency Almonte pitching to Washington starting pitcher Paolo Espino, umpires cleared the field on a 2-2 count as the rain quickly intensified.

Colorado had totaled eight hits so far, including a three-run home run by Ryan McMahon, his 23rd of the season.
