The Toronto Blue Jays are one of many teams that are in the hunt for starting pitching. Currently, their starting pitching is 13th in baseball on the season with an ERA of 4.00 but their 4.42 FIP is 19th in baseball. The Colorado Rockies, of course, have one the biggest starting pitchers on the market in Jon Gray.

Eno Sarris of The Athletic suggested in this article (subscription required) on Tuesday that the Toronto Blue Jays need to pounce on Gray because Gray’s pitches would have more movement and he has above-average command (both of which Sarris has evidence for).
