If Zach Agnos was known as a college player his first two years at East Carolina, it was as a position player — Agnos was their starting shortstop while occasionally pitching out of the bullpen. In his draft year (2022) though, Agnos excelled at the plate (hitting .330/.405/.479 over 312 PA) and from the mound (23 1⁄3 innings of relief with a 2.31 ERA). The Rockies drafted the 6’0” right-hander as a pitcher for an over-slot $165k and have seen great results from their decision to keep Agnos on the hill.
