Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black had some injury updates for the media, including Rox Pile, on Wednesday before the second of a three-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Black announced that his starting pitcher on Friday will be Peter Lambert. Lambert, 24, will be making his first MLB start since 2019 as he has been out since then with Tommy John surgery.
Lambert has been making minor league rehab assignments for the last five weeks or so. He made four starts in High-A Spokane and he did not have great results there as, in 7 2/3 innings, he had an ERA of 5.
