Another Rockie will make his MLB debut tonight against Houston and this time it’s Yanquiel Fernández. The 22-year-old outfielder from Cuba was drafted by the Rockies when he was just 16 in 2019. MLB Pipeline has Fernández, a left-handed hitter, ranked as the No. 5 prospect in Colorado’s farm system, while the Purple Row community has him as the No. 7 PuRP entering the 2025 season.
The Rockies have lost their last six games against Houston with the last victory coming on July 18, 2023 when Colorado won 4-3 at Coors Field.
