Despite plenty of opportunities to win the game, the Colorado Rockies (6-29) couldn’t capitalize in the series' first game against the Detroit Tigers (23-13) on Wednesday. Now, they gear up for a twin bill on Thursday with a tough opponent on the mound in Game 1.
Kyle Freeland (0-4, 5.70 ERA) has had a rough go to start the season but has been keen on giving the Rockies some much-needed innings in the rotation. He has gone at least six innings four times through his first seven starts, and has failed to go five full innings just twice.
