Seeing Chris Sale’s name on the lineup is worrisome for any team. The 8-time All-Star is one of the best in the game and not what a 4-25 team like the Rockies wants to see in their matchup today. After all, Sale went 18-3 with a 2.38 ERA in a Cy Young 2024 season when he also won the National League Comeback Player of the Year.
However, Sale isn’t off to his best start this season. The 36-year-old lefty is 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in six appearances. He’s yet to pitch past the fifth inning this season.
