These are the games that try managers’ souls. And make them jump for joy.
C.J. Cron hit a one-out walk-off homer off Daniel Hudson to lift the Rockies to a wild, 6-5 win over San Diego Monday night at Coors Field.
It was Cron’s 20th homer of the season and Colorado’s 11th walk-off win — the most in the majors. It also set a franchise record, topping the 2010 squad’s record of 10 walk-off wins.
In the top of the ninth, however, the Padres appeared to have wrecked Colorado’s evening. The Rockies led 5-2 and had two outs.
