NEW YORK — There are many reasons why manager Bud Black is happy that left-hander Chris Rusin is back in the Rockies’ bullpen. But Black’s bottom line is simple: “He won a lot of games for us last year. A lot of games.”
Rusin, Colorado’s Swiss army knife last season when he filled multiple roles out of the bullpen, was reinstated from the disabled list before Friday night’s game against the Mets. To make room for Rusin, right-hander Antonio Senzatela was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque. Black said the plan is to use Senzatela as a starter for the Isotopes, beginning Saturday against El Paso.
