Less than 24 hours after Chad Bettis underwent season-ending bilateral hip surgery on August 27 in Denver, he’d already begun rehabbing on a stationary bicycle.
And so it goes for the tunnel-visioned Colorado pitcher, who, after overcoming adversity ranging from the serious (testicular cancer) to annoying (recurring finger blisters), is determined to work his way back to the mound once again.
“It’s going to be a normal offseason for me,” Bettis said. “My weight lifting might get pushed back a little bit, and my throwing is looking like it’s going to line up to start in December-ish.
