Bud Black thrilled with Rockies’ home-field advantage at Coors

With its 13-8 victory over Miami Sunday, Colorado improved its record at Coors Field to 38-21. Since May 21, it is 25-9 in LoDo, a .735 home winning percentage that is the best in the majors.

That’s the kind of home-field advantage Bud Black envisioned when he took over as Rockies manager before the 2017 season.

“Talking with other players, coaches and managers, it’s kind of a double-edged sword for opposing teams,” Black said. “The offense, for the opponents, likes coming here to hit. For four games, they can have a heyday.

“Pitchers on the opposing side have nightmares, about potentially pitching here.
