Bud Black gets NL Manager of the Year nod

Bud Black is a man known for keeping his composure. He was able to help his team rally from losses and get to the playoffs for the second year in a row. This was an impressive feat for a manager, but the award went to Brian Snitker, who took the Braves way beyond expectations. Craig Counsell with the Brewers took second place. Black has done some solid work with the Rockies, but there is still more room for improvement. While he was able to pull out some major successes late in the season, the offense lacked any kind of consistency.
