SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Halfway through the Cactus League schedule, Rockies manager Bud Black has a pretty good idea about how he’ll set up his regular-season bullpen.
Still, plenty of evaluation and several key decisions remain before the Rockies depart from Arizona on March 24. And while the bullpen won’t have a revolving door in 2019, there’s bound to be plenty of to-and-fro.
And make no mistake about it, regardless of how potent the lineup is or how well the Rockies’ highly touted starters perform, relievers will be key. That’s why the Rockies spent $106 million on their bullpen before last season.
