Blake St. Ball: What went wrong for the Colorado Rockies in Florida

The Colorado Rockies went 3-4 in Miami and Tampa Bay, putting forth next-to-nothing for offense. Considering how bad the team struggled, they’re lucky to have escaped Florida just one game under .500.

The first two games against Miami, everything clicked as one would expect. Kyle Freeland and German Marquez were lights out and the offense scored six runs in each game. Unfortunately, that’s about all the offense the Rockies would get on the road trip. For the next five games, the Rockies scored a combined five runs and were shut out twice.
