Colton Welker will be one of seven Colorado minor leaguers playing in the Arizona Fall League, where the Rockies’ top positional prospect not named Brendan Rodgers is eager to make up for lost at-bats in an injury-shortened season for Double-A Hartford.
The 21-year-old former fourth-round draft pick (2016) is hitting .252 with 10 home runs heading into the final weekend of the Yard Goats season. He was sidelined from July 13 until August 14 due to a slight impingement in his left shoulder.
“It happened while I was swinging — I kind of have a big (one-handed) finish, and that caused it,” Welker said.
