DENVER -- Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado welcomed himself home in a big way Friday night.
Arenado, who went 1-for-10 while the Rockies lost two of three at Dodger Stadium, launched a two-out solo shot to right-center off Reds righty Sal Romano in the bottom of the first. Arenado's ninth homer of the season -- his fourth at home -- trimmed the Rockies' deficit to 2-1.
The Rockies' offense has struggled all season. Colorado entered Friday's game hitting .252 at home -- sixth in the National League -- and that was part of the reason the Rockies are 7-11 at Coors.
