Antonio Senzatela heads to Rockies’ bullpen; Carlos Gonzalez, Tyler Anderson go on DL

SAN FRANCISCO — What could be the start of a revolving door for the Rockies’ rotation began Monday.

Rookie left-hander Kyle Freeland will now start Wednesday’s game against San Francisco and rookie right-hander Antonio Senzatela will work out of the bullpen. Right-hander Jon Gray, meanwhile, out since suffering a stress fracture in his left foot here on April 13, is penciled in as the starter for Friday’s game at Arizona.

Senzatela, 9-3 with a 4.79 ERA, has never pitched above Double-A until this season. His move to the bullpen is designed to lessen the workload on his arm, but is also a move to try and strengthen a Rockies rotation that has been pitching poorly.
