Arizona Fall League play began last Wednesday and so far, Rockies prospects have only done okay. Of the position players, Colton Welker (no. 4 PuRP) is the only one to have recorded multiple hits. However, relievers Ashton Goudeau and Alexander Guillen have been bright spots so far.
On September 19, Ryan Castellani (no. 16 PuRP), Goudeau, and Guillen all pitched and combined for six scoreless innings in a shutout over the Mesa Solar Sox. Goudeau in particular pitched three perfect innings that included four strikeouts. Guillen earned his first AFL save, pitching the ninth inning and only giving up two hits.
