This week the Colorado Rockies will have a big opportunity to build on the foundation of their team for years to come. The MLB first-year player (Rule 4) draft is tomorrow (Thursday) and the Rockies have the fourth overall pick. It’s the fourth time in the past five years, the club has picked in the top-ten, recently they have selected Brendan Rodgers, Kyle Freeland, Jon Gray and David Dahl
Last year’s draft was a little different. The clear indication even months leading into the draft was that the consensus top-three picks were all shortstops and the Rockies owned the third pick.
