COMMERCE CITY — At the outset of the season, the Colorado Rapids had modest goals. They wanted to play better at home and host a playoff game. But last week’s deadline-day acquisition of experienced French attacker Sébastian Le Toux signals that the Rapids are aiming much higher.
The 32-year-old attacker, in his eighth year in MLS, has put together quite the resume. He’s recorded 56 goals and 55 assists in 237 league appearances. In order to make the deal happen, Colorado first sent 25-year-old Argentine striker Luis Solignac to the Chicago Fire before acquiring Le Toux from Philadelphia Union.
