With their tie at New York City FC last Saturday, FC Dallas became the first team to secure a spot in the Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs. They could be joined in the postseason this weekend by LA Galaxy, Toronto FC, New York City FC and New York Red Bulls.
In reaching 52 points, Dallas made sure of playing time after October 23. The question now is, what will it take for the Rapids to be a part of the postseason party? Well, if we take a glance at recent seasons, and in particular since the 34-game format was introduced in 2011, then the Rapids are pretty darn close.
