U.S. Soccer recently released information regarding the potential matchups and scenarios surrounding the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup beginning on June 1.
According to ussoccer.com, the Third Round will “mark the opening stage of the tournament for the nine domestic North American Soccer League (Division II) clubs.”
The home teams will be determined based upon a “random selection process” among the clubs that had applied for the responsibility of hosting a match and have already met preset requirements that takes into account venue capacity and capabilities.
