The U.S. Open Cup Fourth Round draws were announced today via the competition’s Twitter page. The Colorado Rapids will host the winner of the Third Round match between the Colorado Switchbacks and Arizona United S.C., two sides who are familiar to the Rapids.
Colorado defeated the Switchbacks in the Fourth Round last year 4-1 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, and also defeated Arizona United this preseason 3-0. The Rapids were eliminated in last year’s competition in the Round of 16 after a 1-0 loss in Houston which was delayed nearly three hours by rain.
Charlotte Independence will move on to the Third Round after defeating the Charlotte Eagles of the PDL 2-0 last night in Charlotte.
