COMMERCE CITY — Goalkeeping legend Tim Howard returns from a three-game disciplinary suspension Friday when the Rapids play host to Vancouver, hoping to halt a four-game losing streak that has jolted the team’s confidence and dragged it to the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
It has been a shocking free fall for a team (1-5-1) that had the second-best record in MLS last season but hasn’t won since the season opener in March.
“I don’t think we’re far away, but we haven’t had a win in quite some time,” Howard said. “You can dissect it all day, but we’ve got to get better in a lot of ways.
