The Colorado Rapids opened preseason play with a 1-1 draw against PDL side Ventura County Fusion on Saturday morning at Thousand Oaks, California. Forward Dominique Badji tallied the Rapids’ only tally four minutes from time after the Fusion had opened up the scoresheet just three minutes earlier.
A cagey first half saw both sides create a couple of chances, but the goals would not arrive until the last ten minutes of play. Despite Colorado having most of the possession throughout the match, the Fusion would find themselves with the lead after Diego Casillas calmly finished a great counterattack.
