In a bit of a surprise move, the Rapids acquire MacMath from Philadelphia Union.
I have to be honest, I did not see this one coming. When the loan deal expired for Zac MacMath I assumed (wrongly, it seems) that the Colorado Rapids were not going to pursue the Philadelphia Union player.
But that all changed today.
The Rapids announced this morning that they had acquired MacMath from the Union in exchange for a 2017 second round MLS SuperDraft pick.
Paul Bravo, Rapids VP of Soccer Operations and Technical Director had this to say about MacMath:
Although he (MacMath) did not get that many minutes last season, Zac impressed us with his ability and his professionalism.
