Most Colorado Rapids fans were shocked to hear the rumors that the club had traded Benny Feilhaber to Sporting Kansas City in exchange for a centerback that has only had two appearances in MLS for a total of 164 minutes. We know that players take time to adjust to MLS, as we learned last year. Sure, we need reinforcements in the back line, but giving up Feilhaber seemed like a mistake for a club that wants to be more attacking and aggressive.
But when the news broke and the details were released, it all made a little more sense.
