It was announced today that the Colorado Rapids recalled goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra from the Charlotte Independence ahead of the ‘Pids match vs. Columbus Crew this weekend. The announcement came the day after this tweet was posted:
Clearly, Zac MacMath is spending time with his new baby (congrats!) so Dykstra will fill in as back-up keeper to Tim Howard. Colorado acquired Dykstra from Sporting Kansas City in February of this year and he’s been in Charlotte since then. In his 22 appearances for the USL side, Dykstra has earned four clean sheets.
