COMMERCE CITY — The Rapids were desperate to stop their five-game losing streak and do a better job of “finishing” in the attack. They did both Saturday afternoon in a resounding win over the San Jose Earthquakes.
The Rapids managed only one shot on goal in each of the two previous games, but they scored goals on three of their first four chances Saturday, two of them coming in the first half. And Shkelzen Gashi, a fan favorite who was hampered by an injury in March and April, scored twice. Dominique Badji also scored, his third goal of the season to give him the team’s scoring lead.
