Colorado Rapids went out of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup by going down 2-1 after extra-time at FC Dallas on Wednesday night.
A deflected effort from Maxi Urruti in the 96th minute put paid to Pablo Mastroeni’s side in this season’s competition.
The visitors had taken the lead via a well-worked goal from Dominique Badji seven minutes before half-time. However Dallas restored parity in the 64th minute when an electrifying run from Fabian Castillo set up Mauro Diaz to tap home at the far post.
Both sides had chances to score after Dallas took the lead at the start of extra-time.
