Rhys De Sota struck in the 88th minute as the Colorado Rapids U18s overcame Orlando City SC 2-1 in central Florida on Friday night, to book a place in the final four of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs.
The home side opened the scoring after 16 minutes inside Orlando City Stadium, when a pull back found Isaque Couto in space just yards from goal, and he had an empty net to aim at.
Moments after soaking up pressure at the other end, the Rapids drew level through Liam Johnson with 27 minutes gone. Johnson was fed on the edge of the box after a long, angled ball was nudged back by De Sota, allowing the Rapids’ number seven to level from 20-yards with the Orlando goalkeeper allowing the shot to sneak inside the near post.
