After a midweek loss to English Premier League side Swansea City FC, Charlotte Independence were defeated Saturday night by New York Red Bulls II 2-1 at Ramblewood Stadium.
The match was postponed an hour and fifteen minutes due to lightning and storms in the area which led to poor field conditions.
Charlotte and New York both took time to adjust to the slick pitch, but the visitors found their footing quicker and took the lead in the 15th minute through a Stefano Bonomo header.
The Independence tried to respond quickly, but had to wait until after halftime to get the equalizer.
