September 10 has been marked on the calendar of many Colorado Rapids fans for a long time.
Pablo Mastroeni’s men have been battling with FC Dallas at the top of the Western Conference and Supporters’ Shield standings all season. Some time ago, it was predicted that the trip to Texas could be a decider for both titles.
Colorado made the early pace in the standings but Oscar Pareja’s team took over a couple of months ago. A spate of draws, coupled with their first back-to-back defeats, have seen Rapids drop to fourth place in the West over the last two weeks, albeit with games in hand.
