COMMERCE CITY — The Rapids continued their unbeaten form at home on Saturday, but did so without all-star midfielder Jermaine Jones.
“He’s still on his way back, on the mend,” Rapids coach Pablo Mastroeni said.
Mastroeni said Jones injured his LCL ligament and is considered “day-to-day.” He has missed the Rapids’ last five league games, last appearing in a scoreless draw against Portland on July 4.
“He’s getting through a lot of physical work during the week. But he’s been out for quite a bit of time,” Mastroeni said. “He’s a guy that wants to take injections every day just to train.
