It has been referred to as Dick’s, or DSGP. Goodness, some even label it ‘The Richard’. To most, though, it is Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, and it has been home to the Colorado Rapids since 2007.
During the past nine years, there have been U.S. Open Cup contests. There have also been CONCACAF Champions League matches. And, of course, there have been international meetings - both competitive and friendly - playoff encounters, exhibition games such as MLS All-Star, and even high school championship deciders.
Officially named Dick's Sporting Goods Park during an unveiling ceremony on November 8, 2006 (below right), this fine facility staged its first-ever soccer match, on April 7, 2007.
