It was 86 minutes of mostly blah play, then six minutes of excitement, as the Colorado Rapids and Philadelphia Union played to a 1-1 draw at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday.
The Rapids controlled the run of play through the first half and pushed the Union defense more than once. The best chance of the first 45 came just past the half-hour mark, as Luis Solignac received a throughball in the box from Dillon Serna, and appeared to have the space to send a quick shot on goal. But the Argentine instead opted to take a couple of touches, allowing a Union defender to get in position, by which time Solignac's shot went over the goal.
