The Colorado Rapids U-23s extended their unbeaten streak this weekend as they defeated Albuquerque Sol 5-1 on the UCCS Training Field at DICK’S Sporting Good Park Friday afternoon. This resounding win was followed by a 1-1 draw between the teams on Sunday evening.
Striker Andre Bava Shinyashiki had a spectacular weekend for the Rapids, as he scored three goals and delivered an assist. The 21-year-old striker from the University of Denver opened the scoring in the 9th minute on Friday, as he fired home a shot from just outside the 18. His second of the night came in the 66th minute after receiving a cross from Greg Tracey and burying it in the back of the net.
