Colorado Rapids U-17s start out strong in the Generation adidas Cup

This weekend, the Colorado Rapids are hosting the West region’s U-17 Generation adidas Cup tournament at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. It’s part of the MLS Homegrown Initiative, which focuses on player development and elite youth competition. For some, the cup leads to getting picked up to play in MLS, like Dillon Serna who obviously plays for the Rapids and Victor Ulloa on FC Dallas.

Today, the Rapids U-17 squad kicked off the tournament by taking on the Portland Timbers. Eban Noverr scored for the Rapids in the 34th minute on a penalty kick, and then Portland tied it up with a penalty kick of their own in the 62nd minute.
