Burgundy Boys pick up a win and a loss in 2-game road trip

After a three-week international break, the Colorado Rapids came back with a two-game road trip with just three days of rest in between matches.

FC Cincinnati 0, Colorado Rapids 2

First up was Wooden Spoon contender FC Cincinnati, proof positive that money spent doesn’t always translate to success. Despite having the fifth-highest salary in the league, they’re fighting the Chicago Fire at the bottom of the league. They earned the Wooden Spoon last year, and the year before, and both times by a pretty large margin. They’ve had challenges with their coaching staff, they’ve had signings fail to deliver on their promises, and it seems like the only thing that can save them is to undergo nothing shy of a complete transformation of the team.
