BOULDER - Abrianna Torres (track and field) and George King (men’s basketball) earned this week’s Athlete of the Week honors after they both set new personal bests in their sports.
Torres defended her pentathlon title at the Colorado School of Mines Alumni Classic and Open on Thursday at Steinhauer Fieldhouse, finishing first with a total score of 3,860. She started her day running the 60-meter hurdles and finished first with a time of 8.89 seconds, just missing her personal record of 8.88. In the high jump, Torres set a new personal best at 5-6 (her previous best was 5-5.
