FORT COLLINS – The University of Colorado track and field throwers competed in three throwing events this weekend here at the Jack Christiansen Invitational at CSU.
Friday CU senior Dominique Williams won the men's hammer throw with a toss of 60.49 meters (198-05). All four of his fair throws were good enough to win the event. Teammate Clayton Castro finished second in 56.87 meters (186-07), less than two feet from a CU top-10 mark.
In the women's throws, Elena Opp was the highest finishing Buff with a fifth-place mark in the hammer throw at 53.
