BOULDER - This week's UCHealth CU Athlete of the week goes to placekicker James Stefanou for football, and Jalen Tompkins for women's soccer.
First to win the award is freshman Buff James Stefanou. The Lou Groza Award semifinalist is now 31-of-31 on extra points and 16-of-18 on field goals, for 76 points on the year. His 53-yard field goal in the third quarter was a career-long and also the second-longest by a freshman in CU history. Stefanou has been more than clutch for the Buffaloes this season. He has gone 3-for-3 in four games this season, including Saturday's game at Arizona State; he made nine in a row earlier this year and now has a string of six consecutive.
