BOULDER - Colorado announced its winners of the UCHealth CU Athletes of the Week on Tuesday. John Souza, a men's golfer, won the male award and Alexa Smith picked up the female award.
Souza who got the job done for the Buffs on the golf course last week. He was the top performing Buffalo at New Mexico's William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. The senior tied for 11th with a 3-over 219 after wrapping up play with an even-par 72. He shot 71-76 in the first two rounds. The highly-talented golfer led the entire field in par-3 scoring at 1-under, the only golfer to play all 12 "short ones" under par.
