BOULDER — When former Colorado Buffalo offensive tackle and current Denver Bronco lineman Tyler Polumbus lines up against the Carolina Panthers for Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7, he’ll have a chance to become a unique part of CU history.
Polumbus could win the 50th Super Bowl ring by a Buff in the 50th Super Bowl.
Currently, 33 different Buffs have accounted for 49 Super Bowl rings over the years. The list begins with former CU quarterback Boyd Dowler, who switched to wide receiver when he began playing with the Green Bay Packers, with whom he picked up a pair of rings in the first two Super Bowls ever played.
