Any scenario allowing the Colorado men's basketball team to make a push toward the top half of the Pac-12 Conference standings pretty much required the Buffaloes to fare well in this weekend's home series against the Oregon schools.
That quest got off to a frustrating start for the Buffs Thursday night at the CU Events Center, as Oregon State made the plays down the stretch in a back-and-forth affair to hand CU a 76-74 defeat. CU fell to 11-9 overall and 2-6 in the Pac-12 Conference.
Oregon State won in Boulder for just the second time in 11 trips.
