One gutsy TD drive may have solidified Ryan Staub as Colorado's QB1

After some early struggles and Houston building a 13-0 lead, Colorado fans were ready for a QB change. Deion Sanders was catching plenty of heat for his "rash" decision to move on from Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter and true freshman Julian Lewis to hand the keys to third-stringer Ryan Staub on the heels of his strong performance against FBS newcomer Delaware a week ago.

Back-to-back touchdown drives to end the half to cut Houston's deficit at the half to 16-14 have alleviated those concerns, and perhaps solidified Stabu's standing as QB1 going forward.

Staub finished the first half 12-of-18 passing for 120 yards with 33 rushing yards on five carries.
