SAN FRANCISCO – Colorado track and field senior Abby Nichols has been named the Pac-12 Women's Track Athlete Of The Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Nichols ran the eighth-fastest time in NCAA history last Friday in the Mt. SAC Relays Elite Women's 5,000-meter run. Her time of 15:15.95 is second in CU history only to the NCAA record held by Jenny Simpson.
This is Nichols' second honor this season, joining Sage Hurta and Emily Hunsucker as the only athletes in CU history to earn the honor twice, as well in one season.
